Nick Vujicic got knocked down but never gave up. Nick achieved success defying all odds. He is an inspiration for everyone facing depression in their lives.
Nick was born in 1982 with a rare disorder called tetra-amelia, where the limbs of a person do not form in the womb. The syndrome is so unique that there are only seven reported cases in the world. When Nick was born, his mother refused to see him or even hold him. Eventually, his parents saw it as God's plan, and he grew up in a "normal" way… at least at home.
With all his disabilities, school children bullied him. He contemplated suicide many times. Instead of giving up, he redoubled his efforts with God by his side. Nick always kept a pair of shoes in his closet in the hope that one day he would walk, he never gave in to his depression.
Because of his positive attitude, he graduated from Griffith University at the age of 21 with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce. Nick Vujicic's positive attitude is impressive. He has gone on to write many books, created a nonprofit ministry, a motivational speaking company, was in a movie, and recently released a music cd and video. In 2012 he married Kanae Miyahara, and they now have four children. Nick Vujicic has helped many people going through adversity in their lives. I would highly recommend listening to him speak or read his books. Nick is only 36 and has already accomplished so much in his life while facing adversity.
We sometimes wait for a miracle to happen in life — but the miracle never comes. Nick wishes many things were different in his life. But knowing that he can be a miracle for someone else makes his life worth living. Everyone can be depressed, but Nick embraces life and focuses on what is most important. Never give up!
